Las Vegas - September 2006 (A Venetian-style canal inside the hotel foyer!)

From Bob on 29th April 2017 Las Vegas - September 2006 (A Venetian-style canal inside the hotel foyer!)

Most hotels in Las Vegas are themed. One, built like a pyramid, has an Ancient Egypt theme. Another, with a huge Eiffel Tower outside, has a Parisian theme. The theme of this one, where we stayed, was Venice. To add authenticity, the gondolier sang 'Santa Lucia' to us in Italian as he punted the gondola round the canal which ran through the hotel and its grounds. The gondola returned to the hotel foyer via the Venetian-style bridge which can be seen at the back of the photo. The 'buildings' in the background, of course, are just a facade to create the illusion of being in Venice. And all this inside the hotel. It could only happen in Las Vegas!
